Award-winning branding, packaging, and photography.

Veraqua began in the early 2000s at a kitchen table in South Boston, Massachusetts, after the tech bubble had burst and burst hard. Our founder, Deb Liljegren, needed to make ends meet during that lean job market, so she started freelancing as did many designers and marketers at that time. When she discovered how much she enjoyed working directly with the clients and solving many varied branding and design challenges, Veraqua came to be.

Since then, the company has evolved as branding and design marketplaces have done so as well. It is why we are a boutique firm with curated offerings and not all things to all people.

Ver-what?

Veraqua (vər ‘akwə) is a created name. (We are branders, what did you expect?)

Formed by merging the name Vera and the word aqua, Veraqua honors Deb’s beloved aunt and her love of water. As with all of our naming projects, we made certain that Veraqua’s roots and potential meanings would hold to our creative ideologies.

While there are many translations for the word, mainly rooted in Latin, these two are most often referenced by our clients.

  • Latin vera qua That is true

  • Italian vera qua True here

Both translations are applicable because we are, first and foremost, honest with our clients. We have to be as they are trusting us with one of the most important foundations of their business: their brand.
